Volleyball

I am really good at making journal entries when I should be doing homework. I'm the queen of procrastination.I miss playing volleyball. I played for 8 years seasonally - also played club volleyball year round for 4 of those years. I was freaking fantabulous at that sport. I used to pick up the MVP award for entire tournaments. Sometimes I yearn to go back to those days. Hell, I hardly even have time to work out anymore. I miss the days when my most important responsibility was also my biggest passion. My knees can't handle any more volleyball anyhow. They're toast. I can't even bend my legs without an accompanying grinding sound, and I was told to stay away from impact sports 4 years before I stopped playing volleyball. I was in physical therapy for my knees for what seemed like eternity.I feel overwhelmed with responsibilities in general right now. I wish I were closer to being done with school. Sometimes I think about how much more enjoyable my life would be if I stopped going to school, but I didn't come this far for nothing.

Homework

I'm exhausted right now... I'm up doing homework. At least I'm actually doing it. I was trying to get as much done as possible, because my boyfriend wants to see me tomorrow, but there's no way I will get to it all. I'm just hoping to get through the standard homework tonight, and get to the lab write-up tomorrow. He's going to be disappointed. I might be able to do it if I pulled an all-nighter but then I'd still not be able to hang out with him tomorrow, because I'm completely exhausted after I do that. I need to go to the campus library and copy the answer keys to the even-numbered question, because I need confirmation that my answers are correct - I feel like I'm working blindly here. Maybe I'll go do that on the weekend while the Trans Am's tint is getting repaired.

Car

Today I ditched class. I just didn't feel like hustling like hell to get there barely on time. I called one of my classmates and woke him up to make sure he went so I could borrow his notes later. I still haven't done my Physics Lab Write-up or any Physics-related homework whatsoever. Today at work was busy as hell for me. I had to finish up a big project - a 2000 page document which I submit annually to the FDA. I also had to cover for three - yes THREE people in my department who weren't in today - one subordinate, one co-worker, and my boss.On my lunch break I took my car back to the tint shop because the film detached itself from the window at the top of that "matrix". I was quite sad, because it looked so awesome when it was first done. The tint guy isn't sure why it lifted up, but the rubber circles get larger as they near the top, leaving less actual window between them, and I chose the darkest, and therefore thickest, film... thus hardest to apply. He has only done it to about 10 cars with that on top, and none of them lifted, so he called someone who had more experience with the new glue solution he used. He told him that he had to wait a week before trying to push it down, because the glue takes so much longer than the standard soap / water solution to dry. If it doesn't press down next Saturday, he is going to strip it off and try again, applying more glue towards the top. He said he doesn't mind doing it, because he wants to try to make it work on my car, so he knows he can - I guess as a personal challenge sort of thing.Yesterday my dad set off my car alarm while opening a door to his van, which was parked next to my car. He claimed his "leg" hit my car, but I clearly see a mark from a door. I don't think he will admit do hitting it with his door, even though I saw another mark on my car a couple months ago that looked very suspiciously like it was from my dad's work truck. I can't buff it out, so I just have to deal with it. I'm pretty obsessed with my car - my journal must be pretty boring.I really need to do laundry and shower!

Tint

Today I tried to schedule an appointment to have my boyfriend's truck's computer reprogrammed to handle the supercharger, but I couldn't get an appointment until Saturday, 2 weeks from now, and it is going to cost $850 plus any needed parts! That seems like a hell of a lot, but I don't know of any other performance place in my area. While I was looking through the yellow pages, I decided to start calling tint places to see if any of the places in my area could guarantee a few things for me regarding my Trans Am. I've been procrastinating getting the tint done, because on my other car, it looks like shit on the top of the back window, but my cool, customized cargo cover mat that my boyfriend bought me is getting totally sun-faded. Both of my cars have that "matrix" on top - those small rubber black circles (that I suppose are used for providing extra shade?!?), and when I had my other car done somewhere, they left all kinds of air bubbles on top. I called places until I found one that guaranteed that the tint would be flush against the window, so I ran right down there - it ended up being only about 2 miles from my house. I also wanted to ensure they wouldn't cut my defroster lines, but apparently that's not a problem anymore because they no longer cut it while it's in the window. While I was waiting for it to be done, I got some homework accomplished. I'm still entirely behind in Physics, but I'm 2/3 of the way done with my Differential Equations homework now. I haven't even started my Physics homework, and I also have that damn lab write-up to do.I just finished getting it tinted, and they did a damn good job. I had the sides tinted, too. I got the back limo and the sides 2 shades lighter than that. Oh, another thing that's cool about that place - they have a deal where if you pay an extra $25, and you damage it yourself or get a fix-it ticket from the police, you can bring it in; they'll strip it off, and (after you get the ticket cleared) they'll put it back on for you. I don't know if this law applies to states other than California, but here any tint on the front driver and passenger windows is illegal.Yay! My car is truly a sexy black machine now. Soon, I will install my suspension and add red accents to the body. Oh, and I just took a picture of my new K&N intake I got for Christmas while I was out there taking pictures.

Today Sucked

Today was not a good day.It started off by sleeping in, and then I really had to rush to make it to class on time. After I got in my car, I realized that I unquestionably needed gas. I stopped at the gas station and only put in a few dollars to minimize lost time. I then entered the freeway, where after driving for about 2 miles, my windshield was SMACKED by a rock, and it cracked. I am infuriated about this, because I just replaced my windshield from a similar incident a week and a half ago - actually, my parents' Christmas present to me was the replacement of that windshield, and I haven't even deposited the check they gave me for it yet.I then proceeded to school, and when I arrived I only had 5 minutes to make it to class in time. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any parking, so I drove around for 8 minutes before deciding to park in the last available Staff parking space. At that point I could care less about getting a parking ticket. The parking space was still completely on the other end of school, so I had to walk for a bit. When I arrived at the class, there was a note stating that there would be no class today. Normally that would be cool, but I have another class an hour after that one - same professor. There wasn't a note stating that the second class was cancelled. I hurried back to my car to use the time before the next class to find a legit parking space, and luckily, I hadn't gotten a ticket yet. However, the only place I found to park was astonishingly far from my class - it wasn't even on campus, so again I trekked through campus back to the phys. science building, where I wait with other classmates, only to find that the professor did not show up. I grudgingly made another trip back to my car, and finally made it to work. At work, I found people waiting for me, because they needed some Methanol released for pharmaceutical use (3 hours before I arrived), and two of the other personnel in my department who have authority are out of town, while the third is on maternity leave. My entire day at work consisted of running around hurriedly trying to ensure that everyone else's priorities were done on time.On my lunch break, I went to the windshield repair place, and they told me it would cost $50 to repair it, so I tried it. They injected the holes and let them set - and I can still see the damn things directly in my line of sight!Tomorrow morning is my first Physics Lab day, which just means that this weekend my time will be consumed in constructing my first laboratory write-up of the semester. Unfortunately, I haven't even done the standard homework / projects yet, so I really need to figure out a way to devote more time to school. On Sunday I received my 7th speeding ticket - 40 mph in a 25 zone - I can't stand getting tickets for going such a slow speed. At least I get to go to traffic school for this one - my insurance jumps up $100 / month if I get another ticket on my driving record.Closing Note: Fuck the government for being permitted to issue tickets for a broken windshield and then not bothering to keep their damn freeways clean of rocks!!!!!!
